GTO CONTINUES TO SUPPORT ENTERPRISES FOR GREEN TRANSITION
30 participants were selected through interviews to take part in the program, which was conducted face-to-face with the participation of expert trainers.
The “Green Transformation Training Program for Businesses,” organized within the scope of the “Enterprise Europe Network" project implemented in cooperation between the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GCC) and the European Union, has been successfully completed after 4 weeks of intensive sessions.
30 participants were selected through interviews to take part in the program, which was conducted face-to-face with the participation of expert trainers. Throughout the training, the entire green transformation process was addressed under 8 different thematic modules.
Evaluating the program, Mr. Tuncay Yıldırım, GCC Chairman of Board of Directors, underlined that Gaziantep, as an export-oriented city, maintains strong trade relations with European countries. He emphasized that the integration of Gaziantep-based enterprises into the green transformation process is essential for sustainable exports, stating:
“Through this training program, we aimed to raise the awareness of our members regarding the requirements of the Paris Climate Agreement and the EU Green Deal, while helping them develop green transformation mechanisms in key areas such as waste management, carbon footprint management, and climate change adaptation. With this goal in mind, we provided four weeks of comprehensive training covering eight thematic areas.”
Yıldırım: “Gaziantep will adapt to this process”
Highlighting Gaziantep’s ambitious production and export targets, Mr. Yıldırım noted that achieving these goals is only possible by prioritizing environmental sustainability:
“We have clearly understood that progress and growth are no longer possible through production alone. The concept of value creation has evolved beyond brand and technology. What matters today is not only the value we create but also how we preserve existing values and protect the future.
The new global growth model is one that advances without polluting the environment or disrupting natural balances and ecosystems. As the commercial hub of the region, Gaziantep will undoubtedly adapt to this model—and we must.
If we are to maintain and enhance our trade relations with Europe, all our enterprises must be prepared for the green transformation. As GCC, we have long been carrying out various projects, awareness activities, and training programs to instill this consciousness. Our four-week Green Transformation Training Program for Businesses has been highly productive in this regard.
With this initiative, our city has gained 30 enterprises that are now well-equipped with knowledge and competencies across all stages of the green transformation process.”
