The Gaziantep European Union Information Center organized a meaningful event as part of Europe Day, bringing young people together with European Union values through art.
The Gaziantep European Union (EU) Information Center, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its establishment within the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, continues to support social engagement through cultural, artistic, and social activities. As part of Europe Day celebrations, the Center organized a impactful event that introduced young people to European Union values through artistic expression.
The event brought together 11th-grade students from the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce Fine Arts High School. Through art, students expressed the fundamental values of the European Union, including peace, democracy, freedom, equality, human rights, cultural diversity, and coexistence.
Organized under the coordination of the Gaziantep EU Information Center and funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, the program featured two simultaneous art workshops centered on the themes “European Symbols in Art” and “My Dream Europe.” Students interpreted Europe’s shared values from their own perspectives through the artworks they created.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Gaziantep EU Information Center Coordinator Ms. Tuğçe Ayçil highlighted the significance of Europe Day and emphasized the importance of encouraging young people to express European Union values through creative means. She also noted that activities promoting cultural dialogue and social solidarity will continue in the future.
The event aimed to encourage students to reflect on concepts such as different cultures, shared living, and solidarity through the universal language of art. The artworks produced during the workshops were exhibited in the school’s foyer, where students also introduced their art pieces and shared the meanings behind them with participants.
For 30 years, the Gaziantep EU Information Center has continued its activities within the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, contributing to stronger communication between the European Union and Türkiye while raising awareness among young people about European values through cultural, social, and informational initiatives.
