Gaziantep companies established significant export connections during the trade delegation programme held in Santiago, Chile under the leadership of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce.
Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO), with the support of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, organized a “Sectoral Trade Delegation and Business-to-Business Meetings” programme in Santiago, the capital of Chile, for 12 member companies operating in the footwear sector. Within the scope of the programme, Gaziantep-based companies came together with more than 20 Chilean buyer companies and held important meetings aimed at developing new business partnerships and export opportunities.
As a result of the highly productive meetings, the participating companies established new commercial connections in the Chilean market while also gaining the opportunity to promote Gaziantep’s production strength and export capacity on an international platform.
Evaluating the organization after the programme, GTO Board Member Sinan Bay stated that the delegation was more successful than expected and said:
“We had the opportunity to introduce the strong production infrastructure and export potential of our footwear sector to the Chilean market. During the bilateral business meetings, our companies established contacts for important business partnerships and developed connections that are expected to turn into exports. We will continue our efforts to increase the effectiveness of Gaziantep’s business community in international markets.”
Bay: “The Latin American market carries strategic potential.”
Bay emphasized that the organization, supported by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, aimed to develop commercial relations between Gaziantep and Chile, strengthen economic cooperation, and create new export channels, particularly for the footwear sector.
Stating that the Chilean market offers significant opportunities for the sector, Bay noted that the Latin American market carries strategic potential in terms of increasing Gaziantep’s production and export figures.
Within the scope of the programme, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Santiago Ahmet İhsan Kızıltan and Commercial Counsellor Peyman Gülfam Bilgin also accompanied the delegation. The Ambassador and the Commercial Counsellor held one-on-one meetings with Gaziantep-based companies and received detailed information about their fields of activity, production capacities and target markets.
