Primary school students gained hands-on, nature-integrated learning experiences during the environmental event themed Nature Restoration organized by the Gaziantep EU Information Center.

Organized by the Gaziantep EU Information Center, which has been operating within the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce for 30 years, in cooperation with the Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of National Education, the environmental event themed Nature Restoration provided primary school students with hands-on learning experiences in touch with nature, raising their awareness of environmental consciousness, sustainability, and ecological balance.

Within the scope of the event, a small-scale school garden was created in the schoolyard with the active participation of the students, providing the children with hands-on learning experiences regarding soil, plant development, and basic agricultural practices through planting various vegetable and fruit plants

Additionally, a terrarium workshop was organized as part of the program with the participation of 70 students. During the interactive session conducted by Elif Gürsoy and Müzeyyen Sezer, instructors from the Gaziantep Ecological Building operating under the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, children were provided with information on plant characteristics, ecosystems, and the importance of environmental balance. Following the training, the students designed their own terrariums, creating small-scale ecosystems.

Furthermore, during the event, Tuğçe Ayçil, Coordinator of the Gaziantep EU Information Center, touched upon the European Union's efforts in the fields of environment and sustainability. In her speech, she stated that as the Gaziantep EU Information Center, they attach great importance to raising awareness among children regarding the fight against climate change, environmental protection, and gaining environmental consciousness at an early age, while aiming to support their creativity.
