EARTHQUAKE DECISIONS
Dear Member,
Due to the earthquake disaster causing significant material and moral damage in our region, a state of emergency has been declared for 90 days starting from Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in the provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Şanlıurfa. STATE OF EMERGENCY DECISION
We would like to inform you about the decisions implemented by public institutions and organizations to support the rapid healing of wounds in the 10 provinces affected by the earthquake:
- Extension of Payment Deadlines for Social Security Premium Debts and Deferral of Submission Deadlines for Required Information, Documents, and Declarations to the Institution
- Postponement of Halk Bank Credit Debts and Provision of Low-Interest Loans
- Extension of Repayment Deadlines for Companies in the Earthquake Zone for Rediscount Loans and Investment Pledged Advance Loans (YTAK)
- Decision of the Turkish Banks Association Regarding Debt Postponement
- Export of Container Homes and Prefabricated Structures has been prohibited for a period of 3 months starting from February 15, 2023, to urgently meet the temporary housing needs arising in the initial phase of the earthquake. The VAT rate for the delivery of prefabricated structures and containers to institutions and organizations related to earthquake victims in the 10 provinces where the state of emergency is in effect has been reduced from 18% to 1% until the end of the year. - Decision regarding the increase in the monetary limits applicable to procurements through direct procurement within the scope of the Public Procurement Law.
- Decisions of the Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) based on the Presidential Decree on Measures Taken in the Field of Jurisdiction under the State of Emergency
- Decision of the General Directorate of Customs of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey regarding the suspension/extension of periods that impose obligations and cause forfeiture due to customs regimes and practices, and certain fines within the scope of the transit regime, to ensure that affected parties do not suffer from the earthquake
- Circular on the Working Principles and Procedures of Provincial and District Migration Coordination Boards
- Decision of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Board (BRSA) regarding customers affected by the earthquake and facing payment difficulties
- Presidential Decree on Measures Taken in the Field of Work and Social Security within the Scope of the State of Emergency
