VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROJECT WITH EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEE IN THE FOOD AND GASTRONOMY SECTOR

The Vocational Training Project with Employment Guarantee in the Food and Gastronomy Sector is being implemented under the 2024 Social Development Support Program (SOGEP), carried out by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology in cooperation with the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and the Silk Road Development Agency. The project aims to create qualified employment opportunities in the gastronomy sector for unemployed women and youth aged 18–35 who have been affected by challenges such as earthquakes, the pandemic, and migration.

The program consists of three main training modules: eight participants in the long-term professional culinary track and eight participants in the long-term professional pastry and bakery track will complete two months of technical training followed by two months of internship; ten participants in the professional service staff track will undertake eight weeks of technical training and two months of internship. The training will be conducted in line with the curriculum approved by the Ministry of National Education, and upon completing both theoretical and practical sessions, trainees will gain hands-on experience through sector-based internships. At the end of the program, participants will be eligible to receive a Ministry of National Education (MoNE) certificate, and job placement will be facilitated within member businesses of the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce in their respective fields.

Implemented with a minimum employment target of 60%, the project will both address the shortage of qualified labor in the sector and strengthen Gaziantep’s leadership in the field of gastronomy by creating sustainable employment opportunities for women and youth.
